Take part in the creation of the TEDxLaval 2019 stage. Create an innovative and inspired stage design that embodies the theme of 2019: Latitude and Commotion.

For the second time, TEDxLaval would like to present the opportunity for the Laval community to create the stage set for our 2019 event. We are calling on design students, designers, artists, architect and creative minds. The contest is open to any individual or team from Laval, or the Greater Montreal Area. Send us your set proposals for consideration by September 6, 2019. The winners will be announced on September 10, 2019 and will have approx. 1 month to build and complete their design.

Show us your creative interpretation of what this theme means to you! The winning design will be featured on the TEDxLaval stage on October 12, 2019. There will be over 300 people in attendance. The design will live-on in speaker videos after the conference, featured on YouTube and TEDxLaval.com.

It is also an opportunity to be part of the prestigious global movement TED.

All interested applicants are asked to submit a proposal by September 6, 2019.

• Please provide your contact information in the email and attach your design proposal in PDF format (file size should not exceed 5MB).
• Design proposals may consist of a simple drawing or rendering (does not have to be a full blown technical illustration). Include a list of materials, costs and dimensions.

Want your design to stand out?
Create an environmentally friendly design. This means sourcing locally if you can, reducing waste, being energy efficient and embracing environmentally sustainable design practices with the use of eco-friendly products.

Important Dates:

• September 6, 2019 – Deadline to receive set design proposals

• September 10, 2019 – Individual, company or winning team is announced and set design build begins

• October 12, 2019 (am) – Delivery and set-up

• October 13, 2019 (am) – Teardown/removal

CONSTRUCTION

The winning designer or team will be responsible for the complete build of the set. Note: TEDxLaval does not have studio/workshop space available for set building or storage.
