Selection process

Getting on a TEDx stage takes a well-defined process. Please read every step before you start.

Submit your project

Pitch your idea in a short 2- to 3-minute video summarizing your talk.

First selection

Our committee selects the most promising projects. Every applicant receives a reply.

Interview & audition

Meet the committee to discuss your project, then present a 5-minute excerpt on stage.

Coaching & preparation

Every speaker works with a dedicated coach to polish their talk.

A few rules to know

Format

All talks must be 15 minutes or less.

Volunteer basis

No speaker is paid. TEDxLaval is a non-profit event.

No advertising

Advertising and product placement are not allowed in your talk.

Scientific rigour

Science must be based on recognized scientific evidence.

Every proposal is read by the curation committee. You will receive a reply by email.

If my proposal is selected, I will be available for the 5 guidance meetings (about 5 hours in total over 12 weeks). The online coaching journey is free and optional: about 1 to 2 hours a week, at my own pace. See the coaching ↗

My talk will respect the TEDx format: one idea, 18 minutes at most, with no promotion and no political or religious agenda, backed by verifiable facts.
